1. Recommended settings. Chill timer: 2 / 1:30 / 0:30. Competitive timer: 2 / 1:10 / 0:20. 

> Fast roads only (rightmost option), water content - none or islands, monster strength - normal or strong, difficulty - 160%.

> Simultaneous turns 135, tournament rules - enabled, protected saves - enabled.

2. Restart 1x111. The Red player must be the first to say whether he keeps (+) or restarts (111). The Blue player can end the turn and wait until Red makes his decision.

3. FF242 (Final Fight on month 2 week 4 day 2). Whoever controls the central desert town by the end of this turn - wins the game.

4. Players are allowed to Retreat and Surrender, to perform Hit'n'Run tactics without any restrictions, as well as flying over a Border Guard. This rule applies to all versions of Jebus Outcast.

Common variants.

❖ 50% chance. Default variant: 22k max value, treasure density settings in the biome are set to 2-11-7.

❖ 20% [37k] Max value in the biome was increased to 37000. T6 and T7 boxes can spawn randomly.

Rare variants.

❖ 10% [1-11-8] Treasure density of high value objects in the biome is reduced from 2 to 1. Monolith guards in mid are reduced from 60k to 30k.

❖ 6% [ND100] + [37k]. Diplomacy skill is disabled, disposition of all guards is reduced from 4 - 10 to 1 - 10. It means that some guards are willing to join your army randomly (100% and only for money).

❖ 4% [NM] Neutrals Mid. Max value of the desert zone is increased to 85k, road block value is capped at 22k. Side towns in mid are random. Ancient Altar is enabled (84500 value, 2 frequency, no limit).

❖ 2% [NB] Neutrals Biome. Boxes and Dwellings belong to neutral faction. Terrain is randomly chosen between Dirt, Grass or Highlands. Third town of your faction is replaced with a random town.

❖ 2% [UT] Underground Treasury. Full size underground zone, it can be accessed from the mid zone via 5 off-road Subterranean Gates. Settings are the same as the mid zone, except monster strength is set to average and joining percentage is increased to 50%. Frequency of Dragon Utopias in the underground is reduced from 80 to 30. All 4 biomes generate with the same guaranteed town (Tower or Conflux).

❖ 2% [AY] Airship Yard is available on all biomes.

❖ 2% [SM] Strange Mid. Middle zone terrain is the same as the home terrain of its central town. Various terrain related objects can spawn.

❖ 2% [Oasis] Small chance to generate an Oasis in mid.

Jebus Outcast Islands H & XH / 8p G+U.

To activate this version, choose Water Content - Islands and make sure the underground level is turned on in the setup.

❖ Monolith guards in the middle zone are reduced from 60k to 30k.

❖ Middle zone is a very small island with 1 town. Dragon Utopia frequency is reduced to 30, Black Market frequency is increased to 300, 2 semi-guaranteed Pyramids, control scrolls are limited to 1 max.

❖ Diplomacy skill is disabled, disposition of all guards is reduced from 4 - 10 to 1 - 10. It means that some guards are willing to join your army randomly (only for money, 75% in mid, 50% in biomes).

❖ Airship Yard generates in the biome.

8p G+U specific changes:

❖ Orange, Purple, Teal and Pink biomes generate with a random town instead of guaranteed Tower / Conflux. Each of these biomes also have 2 off-road Monoliths (30k guard value) which connect to small treasury islands.

Jebus Outcast was originally envisioned as a template which lets you experience Heroes 3 in a totally different way. It all began with a special version of Jebus King that had pretty much all the overpowered stuff removed. Then I showed it to John Denver, who had ideas similar to mine regarding the balance issues of Heroes 3, and he helped me pick the name for this template. Back then it was played with 8 Heroes like all the other templates. First streamer who started playing it and brought a lot of attention to JO was Lexiav, his feedback was crucial in the process of development. And later on, it was on his stream where I saw that playing this game with 1 Hero is actually viable (by adding certain rules basically), for me it was like the key missing element which was needed to turn Heroes 3 into a more approachable game for everyone. It was less time consuming, it was simple, engaging and fun.

From that moment Jebus Outcast started gaining more and more popularity. Especially when the first Jebus Roulette tournament was organized by Feral and Lexiav - then it really took off. The hype was so unreal that streamers like Gluhammer, Twaryna and Dreadz, as well as content creator Sir Troglodyte, all took notice of this new thing - 1 Hero gaming. They loved this template and I'm sure they brought a lot of new players to the lobby. At some point Baratorch even made a fix that disables the possibility of recruiting Heroes from Tavern, specifically for Outcast. And that's the story of how JO came to be what it is now.
